At lunch break I rung you on the house fone but you never answered so I hung up and rung back on the voda. We were chattin so kosher but then you started to moan love about how I never give you no time when I'm out on the roads nuff. My head in my hands, starin right at my hair brush on the table beside my cuppa tea and toast still untouched. My fist on the table, eyes fixed on the carpet, telephone going off, can't be arsed to go and answer it. My head in my hands coz I opened up the front door to see if there was any post for me on the floor in the porch. My fists on the table coz the letter I just read in black had just said that you had left with my best friend. My eyes to the ceiling coz I thought it was all a joke, til I opened up your wardrobe, no hangers, no clothes. My head in my hands coz the photo I'm holding is a photo of you and your fuckin smile.

This evening I have bought back love actually, coz I thought what we had was actually love but I cant see your Gucci scarf or your Zara gloves, there aint no Mac lipgloss or eyeliner or stuff. On the bathroom sink theres only one toothbrush, theres only one face wash, theres only one sponge. On the table by the stove theres a note and a biro I'm trying to chase you on the voda, love just to ask you why go. At lunch break I should have listened to your whinin on the phone and not been so impatient or tired of your moanin. I should have told you we'll sort it when I get in at 6 and settle our differences by talkin it out and shit.
First thing this morning I should have rubbed off Simones, Paulas and Josephines numbers off my phone. If I'd done that this morning you'd be here at home. If I'd done that this morning I wouldn't be alone.

what conventions i have learnt from analysing CD Covers

1.Both images for the CD cover had the artist in a direct mode of address in terms of their specific target audiance
2.Both albums have a clear colour scheme and house style
3.Bar codes are placed clearly on the back of the album
4.Tracks of the Album are clearly numbered on the back of the album
5.Additional information such as record label, websites, producers and legal affairs etc are all listed in small font at the back of the album or logos are used.
6.The CD tends to match the photos and colour scheme as the front and back covers, giving the whole package a house style

Textual Analysis of CD Cover

The artist on this cover, 50 cent, is being represented as another typical “gangster” rapper following the stereotypes made about artists of this genre. The cover is very basic but still delivers a dramatic effect and representation of the artist through the photography, text, colour and mis en scene including the costume. The most noticeable thing on this cover is again the image. The image consists of the artist standing tall and giving the audience a very serious look, immediately the audience can tell that there is not a very welcoming presence to the cover which is typical of artists in this genre. Next is the costume, the costume is very minimal as he the artist’s upper body is only in the photography, however the artist seems to be wearing nothing more than a large diamond crucifix and a pair of gun holsters around his shoulders, the gun holsters are very significant because if we look close enough the audience can see that they are a “Gucci” designer set of gun holsters, this can be seen to many that this artist is promoting and glamorising violence and guns or it could be seen as an extreme representation of reality and life for this artist, none the less it is safe to safe that a heavy sense of hypocrisy is present within this album cover as the artist wears a crucifix, which is a representation of the Christian religion and accessorises it with a pair of gun holsters. Another interesting part of this photo is the way a bullet hole and cracked glass has been edited in front of the photo with the crucifix shining through the bullet hole, again here is a strong sense of hypocrisy and a very negative representation of the artists image and lifestyle which could be seen as some one who endorses and glamorises gun crime. The text is fairly simple and uses a fancy calligraphy style font on the album name and a small sqaurish font for the artists name.
